Toyota Australia has reopened orders for the Toyota LandCruiser 70 Series GXL Wagon automatic following a pause in 2025.

This means customers once again have access to the full automatic range across the 76 Series wagon, 78 Series Troopcarrier and 79 Series tray body styles. However, manual variants remain off the order sheet for now, including the 78 Series, 79 Series double-cab/chassis and 76 Series GXL wagon, which remain unavailable for the time being.

The return of automatic ordering restores access to the six-speed auto across the core 70 Series line-up, spanning wagon, Troopcarrier and tray body configurations.

Alongside the reopening of orders, the range has been updated with the addition of a 20-litre AdBlue tank to meet Euro VI emissions regulations.

The system uses selective catalytic reduction (SCR), injecting a urea-based solution into the exhaust stream to help reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions.

“After pausing orders for certain LandCruiser 70 Series in 2025 to manage customer expectations around vehicle supply challenges, we are excited to say that order books are now back open,” John Pappas, Toyota Australia Vice President Sales, Marketing and Franchise Operations, said. “The addition of the AdBlue system will also ensure the vehicles meet the latest Euro VI emission standards.”

Despite the emissions changes, performance figures remain unchanged, with the 2.8-litre turbo-diesel producing 150kW and 500Nm in automatic variants.

There have also been minor packaging changes, including a reduction in fuel tank capacity for the 78 Series Troopcarrier, which now holds 130 litres instead of 180 litres to align with other variants in the range.
