A total of 1262 MY2026 RAM 1500 vehicles have been recalled in Australia over a potential defect affecting two second-row seat belt buckle anchors, with the recall applying to all variants of the 2026 model within the affected model range.

Due to a manufacturing defect, the second-row centre and left-side seat belt buckle anchors may not meet specifications, meaning the affected seat belts may not operate as intended.

The two affected seating positions are the second-row centre and second-row left-side seats, and owners should avoid carrying passengers in these positions until the vehicle has been inspected and, where required, rectified.

Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted in writing by American Special Vehicles, advising them to contact an authorised RAM dealer to have the rectification completed free of charge. Dealers will inspect the affected second-row seat belt buckle anchors and carry out the required rectification.

The Australian recall presently specifies MY2026 vehicles only, with 1262 units affected across all RAM 1500 variants within that model year, and owners can check whether their vehicle is affected through the government’s recall VIN list (↗).

The recall follows recent news that the RAM 1500 TRX SRT will return to Australia during the first half of 2027.
